Late Season Butterflies

A friend and I went to "pick" apples in Bolton this afternoon.  We didn't end up having time to go out and pick our own, but we did buy some.   ;)

At our second stop, I was so surprised to find one butterfly on the mums in the green house and a second just outside!

 Painted Lady

 Cabbage White

  2. Interesting. Two species that we also get here in Scotland, but sadly not at this time of year. It has been a beautiful sunny day here, but no butterflies :(

    1. Nick, did you hear the report that came out this week about Painted Lady migration in Europe? I'm surprised to see them this late in the season. We're supposed to warm up even more this week, so I expect to see some more!
