It was a dark day today, and it was not a good day for butterflies.  I took my lunchtime walk at Breakneck Hill Conservation Land.  It sure looked like it could rain at any moment, but it didn't.

I also saw one Common Ringlet, but that was it.  It felt more like October than August....

Milkweed Bugs

This milkweed pod was in the middle of the trail.  It was funny to me to see all these bugs gathered on it, like it was the best thing in the world.  Milkweed plants are their main food source, so it must have been a nice diner for them.
