Two Hikes at Waseeka Wildlife Sanctuary

I visited Waseeka today at lunch and after work.  I had a lot of nice bird sightings, including two pairs of Wood Ducks, Belted Kingfishers, a Great Blue Heron, several Northern Flickers, Tree Swallows, Common Grackles, a pair of Hooded Mergansers, Black-Capped Chickadees, Tufted TItmice, a Blue Jay, Red-Breasted Nuthatches, a Downy Woodpecker, two Wild Turkeys, and the two nesting Ospreys.

Oh, there were three Spring Azure butterflies along the Cart Path Trail at noon and lots and lots of other bugs after work!

I spooked her out of the water and she flushed to this tree initially, then flew away.

Beautiful sanctuary.
