Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge

George and I walked this morning at Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge.  We were the only ones there when we arrived, but by the end of our 2 hours, there were quite a few other hikers, bikers and fishermen.

 Painted Lady

 Orange Sulphur

Monarch Caterpillar (crossing the road)

 Monarch

Pearl Crescent

 Eastern-Tailed Blue

If you notice, there is a small spider, possibly a crab spider, looking forward to eating a butterfly for a snack.  Don't know how this turned out for the butterfly, as we didn't stick around.

Click here for June butterfly and dragonfly photos from Assabet River NWR.
