More Beauty in the Rain

I read on Facebook that the cygnets had been born of the Mute Swan that I could see as I drove to and from the grocery store.  I decided it was worth driving over there and checking out these four little newborns, less than 24 hours old.  The mother had them right at the shallow edge of the water, and she kept stirring the bottom with her feet.  Every time she stirred things up, the little ones found plenty to nibble on in the water.

My next stop was a quick one at Keefe Technical School to get some photos of the beautiful pink Dogwoods.  This school has some beautiful flowering trees, especially in the back.  This dogwood is not officially in bloom.  The flowers make up the small green centers.  The pink "flowers" are actually bracts that draw pollinators in towards the center flowers.

Next stop, Garden in the Woods, Framingham.  We are days away from "Trillium Week", so I wanted to get in and see what is in bloom.  It was lightly misting while I visited but still very enjoyable and so much beauty to find among the many blossoming wildflowers.
