Waseeka Wildlife Sanctuary

Took a quick hike at Waseeka during lunch today.  Birds were pretty quiet.  There were a few Red-Breasted Nuthatches near the parking lot and again at the end of Pitch Pine Trail.  They all stayed very high in the trees.

From the dam, I saw one White-Breasted Nuthatch and a small flock of Dark-Eyed Juncos.

At the far end of the dam, there was something swimming in the water that went very still as I drew near and then finally dove under the water.  I think it was a muskrat.

The view - It was a beautiful day for December!
