Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge

This mallard chose a nesting location a little too near the trail.  I hope it will be safe enough.

 Northern flicker (male)

 Robin

 Tufted titmouse

Black-capped chickadee

Great Blue Heron (all the way on the other side of the water)

We saw dozens of butterflies in the grass along the main road:  spring azures (5), clouded sulphurs (20+), cabbage whites (3) and some unidentified brown butterflies that I couldn't get a good enough photo to identify.  Maybe next time!
