Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

I was beginning to feel repeated disappointment with the meadow/wetlands area in front of my house this year.  There have been very few butterfly sightings this year compared to last year, when it seemed no matter when I looked, I would find something in there!

This afternoon, I went looking and didn't take my camera, because there has been no need of it for so many days!  Of course, there was a gorgeous Eastern Tiger Swallowtail on the Joe Pye Weed in the wetlands.  I raced back into the house, up 2 flights of stairs to grab my camera, back down 2 flights of stairs, out the front door, down the front steps and halfway down the driveway. Luckily, it was still nectaring.  Enjoy!
