Gloucester Schooner Festival 2014

Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day for the Parade of Sails, and we enjoyed the views of the other schooners from the deck of the Ardelle.

We were surprised to discover that the Ardelle was a schooner we had seen in various stages as it was being built.  We often ate at Periwinkles in Essex, and the Ardelle was built right outside their diningroom window.

It is really quite impressive to see a sight like this in the year 2014.  I just love it!

Our captain's "pet" seagull just happens to like Cheetos!

And to make this an official "things with wings" posting, there was a nice raft of Common Eiders as we pulled back in to the dock.
