Fish Moon at Breakneck Hill Conservation Land

I took a sunset walk at Breakneck Hill Conservation Land, thinking I would listen for the potential peenting of American Woodcocks.  I may have been there a bit too early (6-7PM), but it was totally worth it because I enjoyed watching the Fish Moon (a full moon) rise.

At least three dozen American Robins were happily hunting worms on the ground, Eastern Bluebirds were hunting insects in the meadow, a Song Sparrow was singing,  Red-Winged Blackbirds were calling, and a Great Blue Heron (my first for 2014) flew overhead.

It was a beautiful walk, made possible and safe by my Microspikes.  Love them!

      Thanks, Josh! I didn't change the settings on my camera and was disappointed with the loss of the "blue" of the hour, but it was a beautiful evening! I met you on an MBC hike....was it just last year? Don't remember for sure, but that was when I started following your blog!
