Dark Skies at BHCL

I was going to walk at Waseeka today, but the skies looked so threatening in that direction that I opted instead for a "sunnier" walk at Breakneck Hill Conservation Land.

Norm was still trying to dry off from the heavy morning rain showers.

Norm, the Northern Mockingbird

Yes, this was the better looking sky!  Of course, the sun came out off and on the rest of the afternoon.

Birds seen (the usual suspects):

American Robin
Blue Jay
Dark Eyed Junco
Eastern Bluebird
Eastern Phoebe
European Starling
Great Blue Heron (flyby)
House Finch
House Sparrow
Northern Flicker
Northern Mockingbird
Song Sparrow
Tree Swallow

I also took this photo of the underside of some shelf fungus.  The tree it was on had fallen over in the woods, so I had a nice view of the intricate details of the bottom.  Isn't it neat looking?
