An Apple A Day

I gave my new Wolverine King Caribou III boots a trial run today at Breakneck Hill Conservation Land.  The parking lot was plowed, but I was left to enthusiastically carve out my own path on the snowy trails.  I did keep my hike considerably shorter than normal.  It's a lot more work walking in deep snow!

My boots were warm, dry and lightweight, resulting in a very comfortable winter hike compared to last year when I got blisters every time I had to wear boots)!  It was 33 degrees, so it wasn't terribly cold, but my feet were continually under the snow, so it was a pretty good initial test.
