In Like a Lion

Today we had our first "major" snowstorm since October of 2011.  It only resulted in a couple of inches of the white stuff (which in any normal winter would not even be classified as a storm).  This has been a very mild winter, and this storm is only significant for one reason:   March came "in like a lion".

Although many of the cemetery feeders were empty, Tom appears to be doing just fine getting through this winter storm.

It can't seem to decide whether to snow or to rain and has been changing back and forth all day.  Even when it is snow, it is very heavy and wet.  Whatever has accumulated on the ground is not going to last, because we're supposed to have temperatures in the 50s by Saturday.

Speaking of lions, you may enjoy this video of a Great Blue Heron that was in the wrong place at the wrong time:  It was fishing in a lion enclosure at a zoo!  Please note:  it doesn't end well for the Great Blue Heron.

Since March came in like a lion, it should go out like a lamb.  We can all look forward to that!
