Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge

I spent the afternoon hiking at Great Meadows NWR in Concord, Massachusetts.  The bugs were out in full force!  It was grey and gloomy, but in the 40s and very pleasant walking.  There were lots of photographers on the causeway and trails.  Click here for a fun video from the 1970s that adds to the theme of the walk!

Muskrats

Red-winged blackbird

Hooded mergansers

Wood ducks

American coots

 Bufflehead duck (on left)

Ring-necked ducks
