Harvester!

Imagine my surprise when I spotted a little flash of orange flying around in the backyard near my birdfeeder.  When I went to investigate, I had to wait a long time for it to land and then.....I was shocked and pleased to discover a Harvester!  A first for my yard and only my 2nd sighting of a Harvester ever!

Harvester

The Harvester is famous for being the only North American butterfly species with carnivorous caterpillars.  Their caterpillars eat wooly aphids!
