Carolina Wren

At noontime, I checked for birds at Hopkinton State Park, Sudbury Reservoir and Chestnut Hill Farm in Southboro but saw nothing but a couple of fluffy mourning doves,  It was 12 degrees.  Not much open water either.....most had iced over in the last 24 hours.  

I was happy to see this Carolina wren in my backyard, within distance from a downstairs window!  He lives somewhere in my yard, and I would love to know where.  I see it and/or hear it regularly.  It's a very dapper-looking bird with rich, cinnamon-colored feathers.  Only the male Carolina wren sings the song.

On a day like today, which started out at 3 degrees and warmed up to a high of 15, I wonder if my Carolina wren is wishing it had wintered farther south.
