Spicebush Swallowtail

This butterfly sighting was a real surprise.  It was raining and steadily getting heavier, but this butterfly was determined to have a few more minerals before it took shelter from the storm.  It was "puddling" on the road in the cemetery under some large trees that were still providing a little protection from the rain.

I never thought I'd get a butterfly photo today (we are currently under a tornado and flash flood warning), and it's nice to have such a big, beautiful one!
