I hope it is ok, but it is certainly not acting like a healthy bird. It did not fly away. It is too low to the ground. Birds were not mobbing it, almost as though they knew it was not a threat. Although this is a beautiful bird to see up close, I'd prefer a view of a healthy bird from a distance.

Injured Red-Tailed Hawk?
I drove through Wildwood Cemetery tonight and from a distance, noticed the profile of a large bird on top of a gravestone. I drove down that road and stopped right next to it. It was the same juvenile Red-Tailed Hawk that I had seen a few days ago, low in a tree. Look at its legs in the two photos. In one, it looks ok and in the other, it looks injured.
