Breakneck Hill Conservation Land

The trails are finally clear and dry!  Whoo hoo!   The snow has melted, and the mud has hardened for the moment (thanks to chilly temps in the 20s).   The sky was blue, the sun was shining, but the wind was whipping.  Oh, Spring, could you please warm up a bit?

Eastern Bluebird

Red-Tailed Hawk

Turkey Vulture

I went back again for sunset, to listen for the peenting call of American Woodcocks.  It's the right time of year, but it may be too cold.  I didn't hear any.  I did see lots of American Robins and Red-Winged Blackbirds and Common Grackles flying overhead, heading to an evening roost perhaps.  A single Double-Crested Cormorant also flew by.
