Yellow-Rumped Warblers at BHCL

There was a nice little flock of Yellow-Rumped Warblers flitting around at Breakneck Hill Conservation Land today.






You can't really tell from the photo, but this last one didn't have tail feathers.  Must be mid-molt.  I didn't think they migrated and molted at the same time....too much energy required.

Besides the above Pearl Crescent, a few other late-season butterflies were still flying around including Cabbage Whites, Orange and Clouded Sulphurs.
